Power to remove unauthorised development

Where any development has been commenced or is being carried on or has been completed in contravention of the regional plan or master plan or zonal development plan or without the permission, approval or sanction, referred to in section 35, 36 and 37 or in contravention of any conditions subject to which such permission, approval or sanction has been granted, then without prejudice to the provisions of sections 54, 55 and onwards the Authority shall have power to issue notice specifying the nature of contravention and requiring the owner, occupier or the person engaged in the development to remove, pull down or alter the building or work, as the case may be, in such a manner so as to bring it in conformity with the plans or conditions mentioned in the notice, within the time specified by the Authority.
