The Chancellor

The Chancellor:

1. (1) The Chancellor shall be appointed by the Sponsoring Body for a period of five years.
2. (2) The Chancellor shall be the head of the University.
3. (3) The Chancellor shall preside over the meetings of the Governing Body and shall, when the Chancellor is not present, preside over the convocations of the University held for conferring degrees, diplomas, charters, designations or certificates.
4. (4) The Chancellor shall have the following powers, namely:
   • (a) To call for any information or record;
   • (b) To appoint the Vice-Chancellor;
   • (c) To remove the Vice-Chancellor in accordance with the provisions of this Act;
   • (d) To annual such proceedings of the University which are not in conformity with this Act, the Statutes, or the Ordinances;
   • (e) To review the academic and other activities of the University and to give such directions as deemed necessary for the betterment of the University.
