Constitution of Town and Country Development Authority
The Madhya Pradesh Town and Country Planning Act, 1973Every Town and Country Development Authority shall consist of the following, namely:— (a) Chairman, who shall be appointed by the State Government; (b) Collector of the district or his nominee; (c) Five members to be appointed by the State Government to represent the following respectively: (i) Town and Country Planning Department, Madhya Pradesh, (ii) Forest Department, Madhya Pradesh, (iii) Public Health Engineering Department, Madhya Pradesh, (iv) Public Works Department, Madhya Pradesh, (v) Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board; (d) Administrator, Commissioner or Chief Municipal Officer of the Municipal Corporation or Municipal Council of the area, as the case may be; (e) One other officer of the State Government to be appointed by the State Government; (f) One person having special knowledge in the field of Town Planning or Architecture to be appointed by the State Government; (n) Five non-official members to be appointed by the State Government, among whom at least two shall be women; (t) Chief Executive Officer shall be the Member Secretary: Provided that the State Government may appoint one or more Vice-Chairmen, if it considers necessary to do so: Provided further that the State Government may constitute a single-member Town and Country Development Authority, if it considers necessary to do so.
