Sanction to proposed assessment and its duration.- 3 [(I) The assessment shell be made by a Settlement Officer.]

1. (2) Before making such assessment the Settlement Officer shall report his proposed method and the approximate amount thereof for the mction of the Governmedt in such form as it may prescribe.
2. (3) The Govement shall when sanotioning the pr-d method under sub-section (2) fix the period for which the assessment is to be in force.
