Definition

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) “State Highway” means any road which is declared as State Highway under the Act; (b) “State Government”; (c) “Prescribed”; (d) “Notification”; (e) “Revenue Officer”; (f) “Collector”; (g) “Highway Authority”. The State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, declare any road, way or land to be a highway and classify it as :-\n(i) an express highway,\n(ii) a state highway,\n(iii) a major district road,\n(iv) other district road,\n(v) a village road.
