Statutory text

(1) The Director of Students' Welfare shall be a whole time salaried officer and shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Executive Council.
(2) The Director shall work directly under the Vice-Chancellor and shall be responsible for handling all affairs connected with the students, such as accommodation, scholarship and freeship opportunities, medical facilities, extra-curricular activities, liaison between students and teachers, student counselling, job opportunities, placement of graduates and their other problems.
(3) The Director shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as are laid down under this Act and as may be prescribed.
