The Director of Instruction

**18.**

1. (1) The Director of Instruction shall be a whole time salaried officer and shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Executive Council.
2. (2) The Director shall work directly under the Vice-Chancellor and shall be responsible for the due performance of the functions of the colleges and other teaching institutions and shall co-ordinate and guide education in all the constituent and affiliated colleges of the University in close co-operation with the Deans of Faculties and other officers.
3. (3) The Director shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as are laid down under this Act and as may be prescribed.
