Statutory text

(1) In the discharge of its functions, the Metropolitan Region Development Authority shall be guided by such directions in matters of policy involving public interest as the Government may give to it in writing.
(2) If any question arises as to whether any such direction relates to a matter of policy involving public interest, the decision of the Government thereon shall be final.
(3) The Government may issue directions and or prescribe through orders for ease of functions to be carried out for the purpose of implementation of this Act or rules prepared thereunder.
(4) The Government may, at any time either on its own motion or on application made to them in this behalf, call for the records of any case disposed of, or order passed by the Metropolitan Region Development. Authority for the purpose of satisfying themselves as to the legality or propriety or correctness of any order passed or direction issued and may pass such order or issue such directions in relation thereto as it may deem fit:
