Statutory text

(1) On receipt of the plan under Section 16, the Government shall within a period of three months sanction the said plan with or without modifications or return it to the Metropolitan Region Development Authority to modify the same or prepare a fresh plan in accordance with such directions as the Government may deem appropriate: Provided that the Government may extend the above specified period for another three months if it may deem necessary.
(2) The sanction accorded by the Government shall be notified in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette and the plan shall come into operation from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.
(3) The Metropolitan Commissioner shall take necessary action as may be necessary to ensure that development project or scheme is executed in the interest of overall development of the Metropolitan Region and in accordance with any plan, project or scheme duly approved either by the Metropolitan Region Development Authority or under any law in force or by the Government.
