Statutory text

(1) The Metropolitan Region Development Authority shall prepare in such form and at such time every year as may be prescribed, a budget in respect of the financial year next ensuing showing the estimated receipts and expenditure of the Metropolitan Region Development Authority and shall forward to the State Government as may be prescribed.
(2) The accounts of the Metropolitan Region Development Authority shall be subject to audit annually by such person as may be appointed by the State Government. Any such expenditure incurred in connection with such audit shall be borne by the Metropolitan Region Development Authority.
(3) The accounts of the Metropolitan Region Development Authority as certified by the person so appointed or any other person authorized by him in this behalf together with the audit report thereon shall be forwarded annually to the State Government, and the State Government shall cause a copy of the same to be laid before the State legislature.
