Duty of certain authorities to provide for staff.

1. (1) It shall be the duty of any authority or body of the Gujarat University or any college or recognised institution of that University, to provide for the staff of any college or institution in the University Area which is to be affiliated to or recognised by the University under this Act, such facilities, records and other information as may be necessary for the University to discharge its functions under this Act.
2. (2) Any person who holds office as a teacher or member of the staff of any college or recognised institution within the University Area immediately before the commencement of this Act, shall, if the State Government so directs, be deemed to be a teacher or member of the staff of the University, as the case may be, and shall continue to hold office on the same terms and conditions as were applicable to him before such commencement until the University otherwise provides.
