Incorporation of the University

1. (1) The Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor, the Director of Higher Education, the Deans of Faculties and the members of the Senate, the Syndicate and the Academic Council for the time being holding office as such in the University shall constitute a body corporate by the name of "The South Gujarat University".
2. (2) The University shall have perpetual succession and a common seal and may sue and be sued by the said name.
3. (3) The University shall be competent to acquire and hold property, both movable and immovable, to lease, sell or otherwise transfer any movable or immovable property which may have become vested in or may have been acquired by it for the purposes of the University and to contract and do all other things necessary for the purposes of this Act: Provided that the power to dispose of any immovable property shall be exercised with the prior sanction of the State Government.
4. (4) The headquarters of the University shall be at Surat.
