Limitation of prosecutions

No court shall take cognizance of an offence punishable under this Act unless complaint thereof is made within three months from the date on which the alleged commission of the offence comes to the knowledge of the Government or the officer authorised under section 33. (i) The Chief Executive shall, on receipt of an application under Paragraph 31, make such enquiries as he may deem fit and make prompt payment of the whole amount or balance thereof after any deduction as provided in the scheme. (ii) Where no nomination has been filed in accordance with the Scheme, the Chief Executive shall, after appropriate enquiry, pay such amount to the legal heirs.
