Appointment of Conciliation Officers

The Government may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint for any area specified therein any officer of the Labour Department not below the rank of Assistant Labour Officer to be a Conciliation Officer for the purpose of performing the functions entrusted to a Conciliation Officer by or under this Act. (1) The Board shall consist of twenty-one Directors nominated by Government as hereinafter provided,- (i) seven members representing the Government of whom one shall be the Chief Executive of the Board and another a representative of the Finance Department; (ii) seven persons representing the agricultural workers nominated by the Government; (iii) seven persons representing the landowners nominated by the Government; (2) One of the Directors shall be appointed by the Government as the Chairman of the Board.
