Functions of the Board

Functions of the Board.- The Board shall perform the following functions, namely:-

1. (i) to co-ordinate the functioning of the market committees;
2. (ii) to undertake and promote research, survey and grading, and standardization of agricultural produce;
3. (iii) to provide assistance to market committees in the form of loans and grants for the development of market yards and sub-yards;
4. (iv) to organize training for the staff of market committees;
5. (v) to provide expert service to market committees;
6. (vi) such other functions as may be prescribed by rules.
