This Act provides for reservation of vacancies in posts and services under the Jharkhand Government for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes in direct recruitment. It sets out the model roster, concessions for these candidates, liaison officers, and representation of these communities on selection committees. The reservation policy is reviewed periodically, and officials who break the Act can be penalised and prosecuted.
