Power of State Government to restrict or prohibit hunting in certain areas

1. (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, if the State Government considers it expedient in the interests of the preservation of wild animals and wild birds so to do, it may, by notification in the Official Gazette, restrict or prohibit the hunting of any wild animal or wild bird in any area specified in the notification.
2. (2) Every notification issued under sub-section
3. (1) shall state the area and the period during which and the wild animals or wild birds the hunting of which, is restricted or prohibited.
