Hunting of wild animals and birds without licence prohibited.—(1) No person shall hunt any wild animal or wild bird except—

1. (a) in accordance with the terms and conditions of a licence granted under this Act;
2. (b) in the case of any wild animal or wild bird which is not a protected animal or bird and which is not a vermin, in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder: Provided that nothing in this section shall apply to the hunting of any vermin.

1. (2) Every person who hunts any wild animal or wild bird under a licence shall carry that licence with him at all times while he is hunting and shall produce it on demand for inspection by any Game Officer or any police officer not below the rank of a sub-inspector.
