It has come to our notice that you have not registered your marriage/got your registered marriage acknowledged/registered the decree of divorce or nullity of marriage as required under Sections 6, 7 or 8 of The Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand, 2024.

You are directed to submit the memorandum for registration of marriage/acknowledgment of registered marriage/registration of decree of divorce or nullity of marriage within thirty days of the receipt of this notice and in the manner prescribed in The Uniform Civil Code Rules, Uttarakhand, 2025.

You may do so by visiting the official Web-portal of The Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand, 2024, i.e., www.ucc.uk.gov.in or by downloading the Mobile App and follow the step- by- step procedure prescribed therein. The Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand, 2024 and The Uttarakhand Civil Code Rules, 2025 may be accessed from the official Web-portal/Mobile App.

Along with the memorandum you are required to submit an explanation with supporting documents as proof for the delay in submitting the memorandum. On the basis of your submission, it will be decided whether there was a wilful omission or negligence and whether a penalty of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) should be imposed on you as per section 17 (1) of The Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand, 2024.

Your attention is drawn to Section 18 of The Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand, 2024 under which non-registration, where it is compulsory to do so and failing to submit the memorandum on being asked to do so, are acts that attract fine.
