Duties of Declarant

(1) Time-bound Submission of Additional Information - If the Sub-Registrar/Registrar/Registrar General asks for additional information or seeks any clarification, the declarant shall submit additional information or clarification within a period of five days from the date a communication in this regard is received from one of the officials mentioned above. (2) Updating Information – (a) If there is a change in any information provided by the declarant including any change in address/phone number/email/religion of the declarant or legal heir(s), after the declaration of legal heir(s) is registered, it is the duty of the declarant to update the information regarding the same on the official Web-portal or through the Mobile App of the Code within 30 days of the change; (b) After the declaration of legal heir(s) is registered, if there is arrival/death of any legal heir(s), it is the duty of the declarant to update the information regarding the same in the manner prescribed under sub-rule (1) of rule 13.
