Joint mahazar to be prepared before removal of the trees

Before any such trees are removed, a joint mahazar shall be prepared in the prescribed form by a Forest Officer not below the rank of a Forester in conjunction with the local village officer and whenever possible in the presence of the registered holder of the land or his authorized agent who shall also attest the mahazar. Notice as to when the trees re proposed to be removed and when the joint mahazar is proposed to be prepared shall be given to the registered holder of the land. Such notice may be sent by registered post.
