Substitution of section 7, Act VIII of 1978

Substitution of section 7, Act VIII of 1978.-For section 7 of the principal Act, the following section shall be substituted, namely :- "(7) Duties of the Board.-It; shall be the duty of the Board to-

1. (a) advise the Government-
   • (i) in the selection and dement of the areas to be declared as protected ads ;
   • (ii) in formulation of the policy for the protection and conservation of wildlife d specified plants and fbr effectively controlling poa "$ 'ng of wildlife ;
   • (iii) in any matter relating to by Schedule ;
   • (iv) in relation to the measures /to be taken for hannooizing the needs of the tribals and other dwellers of the iorest with the protection and colnservation of wildlife ; and
   • (v) in any matter that may be referred to it by the Government ;
2. (b) carry out or cause to be carrieb out, impact assessment of various developmental projects Ion wildlife or its habitat ;
3. (c) review, from time to time, the p yess in the field of wildlife conservation in the State an suggest measures for its improvement and cause to be published the Wildlife Report of the State at least once in every three years ; and
4. (d) perform such other functions as are germane to the purposes for which the Board is constituted.".
