This Act protects wild animals, birds and plants in Jammu and Kashmir. It provides for a Chief Wild Life Warden and a Wild Life Preservation Advisory Board, and restricts hunting to what is permitted by licence or special permit. Licences can be suspended or cancelled, and records must be kept of animals killed.
