Powers and duties of Board.
The Kamdhenu University Act, 200922. Powers and duties of Board. (1) Subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes, the Board shall be the principal executive body of the University and shall have the power to manage and control all the affairs, properties and finances of the University. (2) In particular and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing power, the Board shall exercise the following powers and perform the following functions, namely:- (a) to make Statutes and amend or repeal the same; (b) to hold, control and manage the property and funds of the University; (c) to approve the annual accounts and financial estimates of the University; (d) to administer any funds placed at the disposal of the University for specific purposes; (e) to accept transfer of any movable or immovable property on behalf of the University; (f) to create teaching, research and extension education posts and other administrative posts and to determine the qualifications, emoluments and conditions of service of the holders of such posts; (g) to appoint officers, teachers and other employees of the University in the manner prescribed; (h) to specify the form of common seal of the University and provide for its custody and use; (i) to affiliate colleges and recognise institutions in the manner prescribed; (j) to withdraw or modify affiliation of colleges or recognition of institutions; (k) to inspect colleges and recognised institutions; (l) to exercise general control over the University and its constituent units and to ensure discipline therein; and (m) to exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed on it by or under this Act or the Statutes.
