Board of Management.

21. Board of Management. (1) The Board of Management shall be the supreme authority of the University. (2) The Board shall consist of the following members, namely:- (i) The Vice-Chancellor - Ex-officio Chairman; (ii) The Secretary to the Government of Gujarat, Agriculture and Co-operation Department or an officer not below the rank of Deputy Secretary nominated by him; (iii) The Secretary to the Government of Gujarat, Finance Department or an officer not below the rank of Deputy Secretary nominated by him; (iv) The Director of Animal Husbandry, Gujarat State; (v) The Director of Fisheries, Gujarat State; (vi) Two Deans of Colleges to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor by rotation in the manner prescribed by the Statutes; (vii) One Director of the University to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor by rotation in the manner prescribed by the Statutes; (viii) Two eminent scientists in Veterinary and Allied Sciences to be nominated by the State Government; (ix) Two progressive livestock farmers or animal owners to be nominated by the State Government; (x) One representative of the Dairy Industry to be nominated by the State Government; (xi) One representative of the Poultry Industry to be nominated by the State Government; (xii) One representative of Fishery Industry to be nominated by the State Government; (xiii) Two members of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly to be elected by the Assembly. (3) The Registrar shall act as the Secretary of the Board. (4) The term of office of the nominated and elected members of the Board shall be three years.
