Establishment of the Council
The Goa Ayurvedic and other Allied Indian Systems of Medicine Council Act, 2019(1) The Government may, as soon as may be, by notification in the Official Gazette, establish a Council to be called the Goa Council of Ayurvedic and Other Allied Indian Systems of Medicine. The Council shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal, and may sue and be sued in the said name. (2) The Council shall consist of eleven members and shall be constituted in the following manner, namely:— (a) four members who have put in at least five years practice in Ayurvedic System of medicine, elected by the registered practitioners from amongst themselves; (b) One member each from the allied Indian System of Medicines to be nominated by the Government; (c) The Director of Health Services, Directorate of Health Services, Government of Goa; (d) Principal of Ayurveda College in the State of Goa to be nominated by the Government; (3) The election of members referred to in clause (a) of sub-section (2) shall be held at such time and at such place and in such manner as may be prescribed.
