Report of the State/District Police Complaints Authority
The Uttarakhand Police Act, 2007(1) The State Police Complaints Authority, at the end of each calendar year, shall prepare a consolidated annual report, which shall include, inter alia, the following: (a) the number and type of cases of "serious misconduct" which were inquired into by it; (b) the number and type of cases of "serious misconduct" which were referred to it by the complainant upon being dissatisfied with the departmental inquiry of the complaint; (c) the number and type of cases, including those specified in (b) above, in which advice and directions were given by it to the police for further action; (d) the nature of misconduct by police personnel in the State, which have been identified; and (e) recommendations related to measures for increasing police accountability. (2) The annual report of the Authority shall be laid before the State Legislative Assembly. The report shall be a public document, which shall be made available to the public. (3) The Authority may also prepare special reports in relation to those specific cases which were inquired into directly by it. Those reports shall also be made available to the public.
