Special Crime Investigation Units

(1) The State Government may create, for Police Districts or Police Stations, a Special Crime Investigation Units, headed by an officer not below the rank of Sub- Inspector of Police and may also specify the offences to be investigated by such units. (2) The police officers posted to such units shall not be diverted to any other duty, except under very special circumstances, with the written permission of the Director General of Police. (3) The Special Crime Investigation Units may also investigate other offences, as may be specified by general or special order of Director General of Police.
