Election of Pramukh and Up-Pramukh

(1) The elected members of the Zila Parishad shall, as soon as may be, choose two members from amongst themselves to be respectively the Pramukh and Up-Pramukh thereof and so often as there is a casual vacancy in the office of the Pramukh and Up-Pramukh, they shall choose another member from amongst themselves to be the Pramukh or Up-Pramukh, as the case may be: Provided that no election shall be held if a vacancy is for a period of less than one month. (2)The election of the Pramukh or the Up-Pramukh of a Zila Parishad and the filling up of vacancies in the said offices shall be in accordance with such rules, as may be made.
