Notice of death and erasure of name from register.

(1) Every Registrar appointed under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act, 1886 or under section 7 of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 who receives notice of death of a person whose name he knows to be entered in the register shall forthwith transmit by post to the Registrar of the Council a certificate of such death, signed by him and stating particulars of the time and place of death. (2) On receipt of such certificate, or other reliable information regarding such death, the Registrar shall erase the name of the deceased from the register.
