Effect of provisions of amendments

The State Government shall, after consultation with the Board, divide each district into such number of local areas as they deem fit and for each such local area there shall be established a Committee to be called the Area Committee which shall consist of the following members, namely:—

1. (a) the Chairman, to be nominated by the State Government from among officer not below the rank of a Deputy Collector;
2. (b) such number of non-official members not being less than two and more than four as the State Government may determine, one of whom shall be nominated by the Board and the remaining members shall be nominated by the State Government: Provided that no person shall be eligible for nomination under clause (b) unless he is a resident of the concerned local area:
