The University Council.-

  1. (1) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the University Council may be constituted as per statutes of the University. The term of office of its members and its powers and functions shall be prescribed by the statutes.
  2. (2) The University Council shall be the principal executive body of the University.
  3. (3) It shall exercise all other powers of the University of which no specific provisions have been made in this Act or in the statutes.
  4. (4) When a person ceases to be a member of the University Council, he shall cease to be a member of any of the committees of the University of which he may happen to be a member by virtue of the membership of the University Council:
