• • * * forests revenue to Zilla Parishads.— (1) The State Government shall, after the due appropriation made by law in this behalf, make every year a grant to every Zilla Parishad of a sum equal to 3[seven per cent.] of the average of the amounts of gross revenue realised from forest during the three financial years immediately preceeding 4[each quinquennium commencing on the 1 st day of April 1972, within the limits of the District] : 5[Provided that, the grant so fixed shall not be altered during that period so as to be disadvantageous to the Zilla Parishad.]

Explanation.— The manner of computing the gross revenue from forests in the District for the

purpose of this section shall be such as may be determined by the State Government.

(2) The grant made under sub-section (1) shall be utilised by the Zilla Parishad for works and development schemes in the forest areas within the limits of the District in accordance with such directions as the State Government may, from time to time, issue in this behalf.] Section 181A was inserted by Mah. 15 of 1969, s. 8. The words “five per cent. of” were deleted by Mah. 1 of 1993, s. 10(b). These words were substituted for the words “five per cent.” by Mah. 1 of 1993, s. 10(a). These words were substituted for “any State Five-year Plan within the limits of the District” by Mah. 36 of 1972, s. 4(a)(2). This proviso was substituted by Mah. 36 of 1972, s. 4(a)(3).
