Creation of new watan
The Bombay Hereditary Offices Act, 1874When no watan exists, it shall be lawful for [the [State] Government] to create one, and in so doing to assign, subject to such sanction as may be required by any law, * * * * * * such [property vested in [the State Government]] as to [the [State] Government] may seem fit.
Such watan shall be subject to all the provisions of this Act, and the watandars shall exercise the powers and perform the duties conferred and imposed by this Act or any other law for the time being in force.
When a watan, or part of a watan, has lapsed or has been confiscated or otherwise lawfully resumed by [the [State] Government], or when the right of any particular family to hold a watan does not exist or is not established; it shall be lawful for [the [State]
