Definitions

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, -

1. (i) “Academic Council means the Academic Council of the University;
2. (ii) “Chairman” means the Chairman of the General Council of the University;
3. (iii) “General council” means the General Council of the University;
4. (iv) “Managing Committee” means the Managing Committee of the University constituted under section 29;
5. (v) “President” means the President of the Managing Committee;
6. (vi) “Rector” means the Rector of the University;
7. (vii) “Regulations” means the Regulations of the University made under this Act;
8. (viii) “University” means the Makhanalal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Avam Sanchar Vishwavidyalaya established under sub-section

1. (1) of Section 3, which will be known in English as “Makhanalal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication”;
   • (ix) “Vice Chancellor” means the head of the University;
