This Act levies a tax in Jharkhand to raise money for rural infrastructure and socio-economic development. It provides for payment and recovery of the tax, appeals, and a Rural Infrastructure and Socio-Economic Development Fund into which the proceeds go. The Fund can only be used for the purposes set out in the Act.
