Qualification for enrolment as students of the University:
Pandit Raghunath Murmu Tribal University Act, 202264. Qualification for enrolment as students of the University: (1) (i) No student shall be enrolled as a student of the University unless he/she has passed the Intermediate Examination or any other equivalent examination held by the University or any other University or-body incorporate by any law for the time being in force and recognised by the University: Provided that students who have passed the Intermediate/ Equivalent Examination or Pre-University Examination shall continue to be enrolled in the manner as prescribed in the Ordinance and Regulations. (ii) The State Government may determine the maximum number of seats for enrolment of students in the Faculties and Departments of the University and the Regional Centres under its jurisdiction and directions issued thereto shall be binding on the University. (iii) The reservation policy of the State Government shall be binding on the University. (iv) The fee structure for the various University courses shall be decided by the Academic Council from time to time under the Statutes/ Ordinances/ Regulations/ Rules made under the Act. (2) Honorary degrees: The Executive Council may, on the recommendation of the Academic Council and by a resolution passed by a majority of not less than two-thirds of the members present and voting, make proposals to the State Government, who shall act as per sub-section (4) of Section 12 of the Act: Provided that in case of emergency, the Executive Council may, on its own motion, make such proposals. (3) Withdrawal of degrees, etc.: The Executive Council may, by a special resolution passed by a majority of not less than two-thirds of the members present and voting, for good and sufficient cause, withdraw any degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) or academic distinction conferred on, or any certificate or diploma granted to, any person by the University (in case of any honorary degree conferred by the University, prior sanction of the State Government shall be required): Provided that no such resolution shall be passed until a notice in writing has been given to that person calling upon them to show cause within such time as may be specified in the notice why such a resolution should not be passed and until their objections, if any, and any evidence they may produce in support of those objections, have been considered by the Executive Council.
