This Act provides for the Home Guards in Jharkhand, a volunteer force that assists the police. Home Guards can be called out for duty, work under the control of police officers, and have the powers and protection given by the Act while on duty. It covers their term of service and discharge, penalties for misconduct, uniform, and treats them as public servants while on duty.
