Honorary Degrees
The Maharshi Dayanand University Act, 1975If not less than two-third members of the Academic Council recommend that an honorary degree be conferred on any person on the ground that he is in their opinion by reason of his eminent position and academic attainments, a fit and proper person to receive such degree, and this recommendation is endorsed by the Executive Council and approved by the Chancellor, the Academic Council/Executive Council may confer on such a person the honorary degree, so recommended, without requiring him/ her to undergo any examination. There shall, however, be no discussion in regard to the person recommended for conferment of honorary degree by the Academic Council and Executive Council.
