Commissioner, may, by notice in writing, put up in such street or such part, declare the same to be a public street vested in the Corporation.

1. (1) Except as provided in section 236, no person shall erect, set-up,

add to, or place against or in front of any premises any structure or fixture which

will,-

1. (a) overhang, jut or project into, or in any way encroach upon

and obstruct in any way the safe or convenient passage of

the public along any street, or

1. (b) jut or project into or encroach upon any drain or open

1. (2) The Commissioner may by notice require the owner or occupier

1. (3) If the occupier of the said premises removes or alters any structure

with the notice.

1. (a) to erect an arcade, over such street or any portion thereof; or
2. (b) to put up a verandah, balcony, arch, connecting passage,

1. (2) The Commissioner may at any time by notice require the owner or

thereon.
