Statutory text

(1) The Vishwavidyalaya shall have the following powers and functions, namely:- (i) to provide for instructions and training in such branches of learning as it may deem fit; (ii) to make provision for research into the problems of veterinary and animal sciences and allied sciences; (iii) to make provision for dissemination of the findings of research and technical information through extension education programmes; (iv) to institute degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions; (v) to hold examinations and to grant and confer degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions; (vi) to confer honorary degrees and other distinctions. (2) The Vishwavidyalaya shall have such other powers and functions, as may be prescribed, to effectively carry out the objectives of the Vishwavidyalaya, and to promote and develop veterinary and animal sciences and allied sciences in the State.
