Special powers of State Government in certain circumstances

  1. (1) If the State Government is satisfied that the affairs of the Vishwavidyalaya are not being managed in accordance with the provisions of this Act, or the Statutes and Regulations made thereunder, or that the Vishwavidyalaya is not able to perform its functions, it may issue a show cause notice to the Vishwavidyalaya.
  2. (2) If the State Government is not satisfied with the explanation given by the Vishwavidyalaya, it may appoint a committee to inquire into the affairs of the Vishwavidyalaya.
  3. (3) The committee shall submit its report to the State Government within such time as may be prescribed.
  4. (4) Based on the report of the committee, the State Government may take such action as it may deem fit, including supersession of the authority of the Vishwavidyalaya.
