Commissioner, he shall cease to be a Councillor on the date of acceptance of his resignation and his office shall thereupon fall vacant.

Payment of allowances to Councillors : The Councillors shall be entitled to receive

allowances for attendance at meetings of the Corporation and of its committees at such rates as may be prescribed subject to the limits as may be imposed by the Government.
