Police establishments

( 1) Every Corporation shall, unlessrelieved of this obligation by the Government, maintain sufficient police establishment for its police requirements within the municipal area and for the performance of the duties imposed on it by the Act. (2) The establishment maintained under sub-section (1) shall consist of part of the general police force under the Government within the meaning of section 2 of the Police Act, 1861 (5 of 1861) and, shall consist of such number of officers and men who shall respectively receive such pay, leave, allowances, gratuities and pensions as the Corporation may from time to time after consultation with the Director General of Police, and subject to the final decision of the Government, direct.
