Disinfection of buildings and articles.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Municipal Regulation 1994(1) If a Municipality is of opinion that the cleansing or disinfecting of a building in the municipal area or any part thereof, or of any article therein, which is likely to retain infection will tend to prevent or check the spread of any disease, or is otherwise necessary it may, after giving a notice to the owner or occupier, cause the same to be cleansed or disinfected in such manner as it may deem fit. (2) Whoever knowingly lets a house or other building, in a municipal area or part of such a house or building, in which any person has been suffering from an infectious or contagious disease without having such house or building or part thereof, and all articles therein liable to retain infection disinfected to the satisfaction of the Municipality, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to Rs. 200.
