Removal of latrines, etc., near any source of water supply.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Municipal Regulation 1994(1) A Municipality may by notice require the owner or occupier of any land on which any drain, privy, latrine, urinal, cesspool or other receptacle for filth or refuse for the time being exists within fifty feet of any spring, well, tank, reservoir or other source from which water is or may be derived for public use to remove or close the same within one week from the service of such notice. (2) Whoever without the permission of the Municipality fails to comply with the requirement of the notice referred to in sub-section (1) shall be punishable with fine which may extend to twenty rupees and with a further fine not exceeding ten rupees for each day during which the offence is continued after the lapse of the period allowed for compliance therewith.
