Information to be given on infectious or contagious diseases.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Municipal Regulation 1994Whoever being the owner or occupier of any dwelling other than a public hospital in a municipal area, and being cognizant of the existence of any infectious or contagious disease therein; or (a) being the person in charge of, or in attendance on, any person suffering from any such disease in such dwelling and being cognizant of the existence of such disease therein, fails to give information to such officer as the Municipality may prescribe in this behalf, or gives false information respecting the existence of such disease, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to Rs. 50: Provided that a person such as is referred to in clause (b) shall not be punishable if he had reasonable cause to believe that the information had been, or would be, duly given by a person such as is referred to in clause (a).
