Payment of enhanced tax on account of alteration

(1) Where any motor vehicle in respect of which the tax has been paid is altered in such a manner as to cause the vehicle to become a vehicle in respect of which a higher rate of tax is payable, the owner or the operator thereof shall within seven days of such alteration make a declaration to the Taxation Officer showing the nature of the alteration and details thereof.
