Officers holding enquiries to have powers of civil courts

Any officer or authority holding an enquiry or hearing an appeal or a revision under this Act shall have the powers of a civil court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (Act V of 1908), relating to—

1. (a) proof of facts by affidavits;
2. (b) enforcing attendance of any person and his examination on oath;
3. (c) production of documents;
4. (d) issue of commission; and every such officer or authority shall be deemed to be a civil court within the meaning of sections 480 and 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (Act V of 1898).
