This Act regulates tenancies and landholdings in the former PEPSU area of Punjab. It fixes the permissible limit of land a person can hold, lets landowners reserve land for personal cultivation, and gives certain tenants security of tenure. It caps the rent tenants pay, requires receipts, and bars recovering excess rent.
